What is SaaS Security?
Bamboozle SaaS Security protects your organisation's data and users across cloud-based productivity platforms — primarily Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. It covers backup and recovery of SaaS data, security monitoring for account compromise, and policy enforcement across your cloud collaboration environment.
Why do Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace users need separate backup?
Microsoft and Google operate on a shared responsibility model. They guarantee platform uptime, but they do not protect you against accidental deletion, ransomware affecting synced files, malicious insider activity, or retention policy gaps. Bamboozle SaaS Security fills this gap with independent, managed backup of your cloud data.
What SaaS data is protected?
For Microsoft 365: Exchange mailboxes, OneDrive files, SharePoint sites, and Teams data.

For Google Workspace: Gmail, Google Drive, Shared Drives, and Contacts.

Backups run automatically — multiple times per day — and are retained according to your configured policy.
How quickly can SaaS data be restored?
Individual items (emails, files, calendar entries) can typically be restored within minutes directly to the user's account. Full mailbox or drive restores are available for more extensive recovery scenarios. Granular search makes it easy to find and restore exactly what's needed.
Does SaaS Security monitor for account compromise?
Yes. The service includes anomaly detection for unusual login behaviour — logins from unexpected geographies, bulk data downloads, or access pattern changes that may indicate a compromised account. Alerts are raised to our security team and to your designated administrators.

Why is Microsoft Defender for Office 365 not enough?
MDO is designed to protect against known threats using static signatures. It cannot detect new or unknown threats in real time, does not provide proactive scanning of shared files in OneDrive or SharePoint, and lacks dynamic URL analysis for obfuscated or zero-day malicious links. Bamboozle Cyber Protect SaaS Security addresses all three gaps.
Does SaaS Security affect performance for users?
No. Scanning runs server-side within the Acronis infrastructure — files are not routed through an external proxy. Upload and download speeds are not affected for end users.
What happens when a threat is detected?
Based on your policy, the file or URL is blocked automatically or quarantined for admin review. The user receives a notification that content has been blocked. Admins see the full incident in the management console.
Can SaaS Security run alongside Microsoft Defender?
Yes. Bamboozle Cyber Protect SaaS Security is designed to complement and extend MDO — not replace it. Running both provides layered defence: MDO handles known signatures, Acronis handles unknown and zero-day threats.
Is this available for Google Workspace?
The current SaaS Security product covers Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange). Google Workspace coverage is available through other Acronis modules — contact us if this is a requirement.
