Key Capabilities
What It Does
Everything managed by the Bamboozle team — from endpoint configuration to successful boot on Cloud Engine.
-
Continuous Incremental Replication
Coriolis keeps replica storage in sync with your live VMs in the background — using Changed Block Tracking on VMware, Cinder snapshots on OpenStack, and equivalent mechanisms on other platforms.
-
Near-Zero RTO Failover
When you trigger a failover, Coriolis deploys the replica on Bamboozle Cloud Engine — applying any required OS morphing, attaching NICs, and booting the VM. Target RTO: minutes, not hours.
-
Non-Disruptive DR Testing
Boot a replica on Bamboozle at any time for integration testing, DR drills, or compliance validation. The test does not affect the live replication process or the source environment.
-
Agentless & Secure
No agent is installed on guest VMs. No guest credentials are required. Coriolis communicates with source platforms through their public APIs over HTTPS and SSH only.
-
Cross-Hypervisor Compatibility
Replicate from VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM-based clouds, AWS EC2, or Azure. Coriolis handles OS morphing automatically — VirtIO drivers, cloud-init, WALinuxAgent where needed.
-
Automated OS Morphing
On failover, Coriolis automatically adapts the VM to the target platform — installing KVM VirtIO drivers on Windows VMs, configuring cloud-init on Linux, matching BIOS/UEFI firmware type.
Source Platforms
Where You Are Now
If your workloads run on any of these platforms, Coriolis can replicate them to Bamboozle Cloud Engine.
- VMware vSphere
- Microsoft Hyper-V
- KVM / OpenStack
- Amazon AWS EC2
- Microsoft Azure
- Azure Stack
- Proxmox
- oVirt / RHEV
- Bare metal (agent)
Multi-Region DR
Replicate to Any Bamboozle Region
Coriolis runs independent replication jobs per region — a local UAE copy in Fujairah for fast recovery and a geographically separate EU copy in Vienna for compliance and catastrophic-failure scenarios, all in parallel from the same source workload.
-
Bamboozle DX1
Dubai · Primary hub
Equinix-grade Tier III+ facility. Primary DR target for UAE and GCC workloads. Direct IX peering at UAE-IX for low-latency recovery.
-
Bamboozle FJ1
Fujairah · Cable landing
Submarine cable landing site — ideal secondary for Dubai DX1. East-West traffic gateway, perfect for cross-DC failover within the UAE.
-
Bamboozle VIE2
Vienna · EU node
Digital Realty Tier III+ in Central Europe. GDPR-compliant DR for EU data residency requirements. Also used as a geographically distant cold standby for UAE workloads.
The Process
How It Works
Managed end-to-end by the Bamboozle team. You define what to protect — we handle the rest.
-
Connect Source Platform
Define your source cloud as a Coriolis endpoint — VMware vCenter credentials, AWS/Azure API keys, or OpenStack Keystone. Credentials are stored encrypted, never passed in plaintext.
-
Select VMs to Protect
Choose which VMs to replicate. Coriolis reads VM specs, disk layout, and network configuration automatically — no manual inventory.
-
Initial Sync Runs
Coriolis performs an initial full copy of VM storage to Bamboozle Cloud Engine. Subsequent syncs are incremental — only changed blocks are transferred.
-
Continuous Replication
Replicas stay in sync automatically on your configured schedule. Each sync is a delta — minimal bandwidth, minimal impact on source performance.
-
Failover When Needed
Trigger failover manually or as part of a runbook. Coriolis deploys the replica on Bamboozle, applies OS morphing, and boots the VM. Your workload is live on Bamboozle Cloud Engine.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Managed Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS)?
What are the RPO and RTO targets?
RTO (Recovery Time Objective) — how quickly workloads come back online — is typically under 15 minutes for pre-tested failover scenarios. Exact targets depend on workload complexity and are agreed during onboarding.
Which workloads are supported?
How is DRaaS priced?
• Coriolis licence — $40/VM/month
• Managed overhead — 20% added to licence cost
• Storage — $0.05/GB/month (High Performance SSD) for replicated data
• Bandwidth — standard egress rates apply to failover traffic

Do you perform DR testing?
Which datacentres are available as DR targets?
🇦🇪 Dubai DX1 — UAE
🇦🇪 Fujairah FJ1 — UAE (geographic redundancy within UAE)
🇦🇹 Vienna VIE2 — Austria (EU geo-redundancy)
Cross-region DR between UAE and Vienna is also available for customers requiring international failover.
