Bamboozle Cloud Engine
Load Balancers
Deploy fully configured and managed load balancers rapidly for easy load distribution between Virtual Servers.
Key Capabilities
What It Does
Built into Bamboozle Cloud Engine — available in all three regions, managed from Cloud Control.
-
Layer 4 & Layer 7 Balancing
Support for HTTP, HTTPS, and TCP forwarding rules. Route traffic at the transport or application layer — with SSL termination for HTTPS workloads and SSL passthrough for end-to-end encryption.
-
High Availability Active-Backup
Enable high availability mode to deploy two load balancer instances in active-backup configuration. If the active instance fails, the standby takes over automatically — no manual intervention.
-
Balancing Algorithms
Choose from three algorithms: Round Robin (equal distribution), Least Connections (route to the least busy VM), or Source IP (sticky routing based on client IP). Combine with session persistence for stateful applications.
-
Health Monitoring
Automatic health checks remove unhealthy members from the balancing pool after three consecutive failures. Members are re-added automatically when they recover. Health check interval and thresholds are fully configurable.
-
Floating IP Integration
Assign a floating IP to your load balancer to expose services to the public internet. The floating IP can be reassigned instantly for zero-downtime failover or migration.
-
Allowed CIDRs
Restrict which source IP ranges can reach each balancing pool. Lock access down to specific networks, partner ranges, or office subnets — without additional firewall rules.
Supported Configurations
What We Balance
Layer 4 and Layer 7 — HTTP, HTTPS, and TCP across all your virtual machine workloads.
- HTTP / HTTPS web applications
- TCP services (databases, APIs)
- SSL termination & passthrough
- Session persistence (sticky cookies)
- Round Robin distribution
- Least Connections distribution
- Source IP affinity
- Multi-pool load balancers
- Health monitoring (HTTP, TCP, PING)
- High-availability active-backup
- Public-facing via Floating IP
- Internal private network balancing
Getting Started
How It Works
All networking features are self-service — available in Cloud Control in minutes.
-
Create Load Balancer
From the Bamboozle Cloud Control portal, create a load balancer on your chosen virtual network. Enable high availability for active-backup redundancy.
-
Add Balancing Pool
Define a forwarding rule (HTTP, HTTPS, TCP), select the balancing algorithm, configure session persistence, and set health monitor parameters.
-
Add VMs as Members
Add virtual machines to the pool. Each VM must have a fixed private IP on the same network. A VM can be a member of multiple pools simultaneously.
-
Assign Floating IP
Attach a floating IP to expose the load balancer publicly. Traffic from the internet is distributed across all healthy pool members immediately.
